Dell has introduced its new PowerEdge C6320 cloud-optimized rack server, the latest addition in its 13th generation PowerEdge server portfolio, and SCv2000 storage series for storage center platform that deliver computing for organizations of all sizes.
Designed to offer four independent server nodes in a 2U form factor, PowerEdge C6320 provides up to two times the performance improvement on the LinPack SPEC; up to 45% improvement on the SPECint_rate benchmark; and up to 28% better power efficiency on the SPEC Power benchmark. This optimizes the performance of the application and productivity while conserving energy use and saving traditional data center space. Powered by Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors, the server provides up to 18 cores per socket or 144 cores per 2U chassis; up to 512GB of DDR4 memory and up to 72TB of flexible local storage.
PowerEdge C6320 also comes integrated with iDRAC8 with Lifecycle Controller that can automate routine management tasks and reduce the time and number of steps to deploy, monitor and update their servers throughout their lifecycle.
Dell offers solutions with pre-configured software and hardware integrated together to target specific solutions for the software-defined era. PowerEdge C6320 is an ideal hardware platform for hyper-converged solutions including Dell Engineered Solutions for VMware EVO: RAIL and Dell XC series of Web-scale Converged Appliances.
Meanwhile, the SCv2000 series has three models supported by flexible expansion options that provide expansion enclosures of up to 168 drive bays per system. The storage can share OS with others and has the ability to mix and match drives and SSDs; has data protection features; wizard-based installation; has Dell pro-support that allows support scheme; and has the ability to use RAID 10 and RAID 5 or 6. SCv2000 storage is flexible with data migration to higher-tier Dell Storage SC4000 and SC8000 Series arrays. The arrays can be managed with the same, single user interface as other SC Series arrays.
“As organizations continue to be inundated with information, there’s an increasing correlation between data analytics and high performance computing,” said Allan Divinagracia, team leader at Dell Philippines’ Enterprise Solutions Group. “The PowerEdge C6320 is the latest example of Dell’s commitment to helping organizations future-proof their business while enabling companies to leverage information for competitive advantage.”
