ACASIA launches global data center services

ACASIA Communications Sdn Bhd (ACASIA) has launched its Global Data Centre. These data centers not only offer co-location services but also core network services and other value-added services such as Disaster Recovery, Managed Hosting Services and Cloud Computing, leveraging on ACASIA Partners’ industry leading extensive network and infrastructure ecosystem.

“ACASIA Global Data Centre is an amalgamation of data centers from seven telcos who are partners of ACASIA namely; CAT Telecom Public Company Limited (CAT) Thailand, PT Indosat Tbk (INDOSAT) Indonesia, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SINGTEL), Telekom Brunei Berhad (TELBRU), Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Corp. (VNPT)”, explained Eric Alberto, chairman of ACASIA Communications Sdn Bhd, during his speech at the inauguration.

Offering an initial 33 data centers that not only cover ASEAN countries Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, Vietnam, but it also covers Hong Kong and Australia. With over 300,000 square feet of floor space and expanding, it brings to its customers the largest single integrated data center solution via ACASIA managed network and its one-stop-shop facility.

These data centers not only offer co-location services but also core network services and other value-added services such as Disaster Recovery, Managed Hosting Services and Cloud Computing, leveraging on ACASIA Partners’ industry leading extensive network and infrastructure ecosystem.

Customers will enjoy world-class services backed by the 7 ASEAN Telecommunications entities whose networks span across all continents. This is provided with Partners Diverse Internet Protocol-based (IP-based) International Network and Point of Presence (POPs) connectivity coupled with diverse submarine cable infrastructure.

Designed with utmost safety and security, amongst these data centers boast capabilities to withstand up to seismic 7 and 8 intensities, flood-proof and bullet-proof facilities.

In 1997, six ASEAN telecommunications alliance made-up of CAT, Indosat, PLDT, Singtel, TelBru and TM was established under the name ASEAN Telecom Holdings with ACASIA Communications Sendirian Berhad as its business entity. Subsequently, in 2006, VNPT joined the alliance.The aim of the co-operation was to direct co-operative efforts towards providing our customers a high quality and seamless telecommunication service within the ASEAN region.
