PLDT and Smart have earned a Gold Anvil Award for their Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Bootcamp, a program designed to simplify data privacy compliance and empower employees.
Developed by PLDT and Smart’s Privacy Office, the bootcamp helps employees integrate privacy practices into their work. With hybrid operations making compliance a shared responsibility, the training equips business and process owners to assess privacy risks effectively.
Over 300 employees participated in hands-on sessions that emphasized accountability and encouraged stronger collaboration between teams and the Privacy Office. The program used interactive training, gamification, and role-specific modules instead of generic technical instruction.
“The PIA Bootcamp ensures privacy is embedded in our systems and services from the start,” said Leah Jimenez, PLDT and Smart’s Chief Data Privacy Officer.
“Privacy is a core value at PLDT, and this award reinforces our commitment to the highest standards of governance and accountability,” added Atty. Marilyn A. Victorio-Aquino, PLDT Senior Legal Advisor to the Chairman.
The Anvil Awards, organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), is the country’s highest honor for public relations programs.
PLDT and Smart also won the Company of the Year Award, a Gold Anvil for the TNT Petmaloop Challenge, and 12 Silver Anvils for initiatives in brand communications, community relations, corporate citizenship, customer experience, and cybersecurity.
