The Business Manual, the Philippines’ pioneering online subscription-based business platform under One Mega Group, hosted the second edition of its flagship event, ‘GrowthCon,’ where over 200 attendees gathered to gain essential skills, industry insights, and connections to fuel business growth.
The conference, held on November 7, at Ascott Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, has become a vital event for Filipino entrepreneurs, offering hands-on learning sessions, direct access to industry leaders, and opportunities for investment partnerships.
With the nation facing ongoing economic challenges, the event aimed to provide practical solutions to help Filipino businesses thrive and support the local economy.
“Growth Con PH 2024 is a dream come true for entrepreneurs. Nowhere else can entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs come together to share learnings, explore opportunities, and network with the leaders of successful Philippine startups. It’s like standing on the shoulders of giants,” said RJ Ledesma, Editor-in-Chief of The Business Manual.
This year’s conference featured sessions with leading entrepreneurs, business owners, startups, and investors, including venture capitalists. The focus revolved on core entrepreneurial skills, digital sales and productivity innovations, and sustainability. Speakers included representatives from Kaya, Foxmont, Ideaspace, Gobi, the Manila Angel Investors Network, and the National Development Company, alongside startups and businesses such as Peddlr, Avocadoria, Parlon, DMark, Humble Sustainability, SolX, Mylo, Luxe Beauty and Wellness, Baken, 1Export, Mtek, Kindred, Betterteem, and Go Rocky.
The event also included networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, private investors, and venture capitalists to explore partnerships and investments.
“At The Business Manual, we’ve created a platform for business enthusiasts to educate, inform and inspire. Growth Con is the realization of that mission in the form of a business summit for entrepreneurs.” Ledesma added.
This year, GrowthCon introduced a new feature: a pitch competition where selected startups presented their business ideas to a panel of investors, gaining pitching experience and potential funding. Remotify, a cost-effective remote hiring solution for founders and small to medium businesses, emerged as the winner and received PHP 600K worth of exclusive native article features on The Business Manual.
The Business Manual GrowthCon 2024 was sponsored by Baken, Luxe Beauty and Wellness, and DMark.
Meanwhile, the Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. (AFFI), GoNegosyo, Startup Village, Brainsparks, Cereal Entrepreneurs, Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Business Council Philippines Inc., International Council for Small Business (ICSB), Benilde Hub of Innovation for Inclusion, and Philippine Marketing Association served as this year’s event partners, with Uniquecorn Strategies as the PR partner.
