Smart launches #SmartBro Hangout Spot in West Visayas State University

Smart and WVSU recently launched the university’s Smart Bro Hangout Spot, a space personally designed by WVSU students where they may stay in between classes and enjoy Smart Bro Prepaid Pocket WiFi’s fast and reliable connectivity for educational or entertainment purposes, especially for those students who are always on the go and those who are heavy data users.

West Visayas State University (WVSU) joins Smart Communications, Inc.’s (Smart) Smart Bro Hangout Spot Design Contest, an initiative that enables schools to provide their students with relaxing hangout areas with free internet access powered by #SmartBro devices.

Smart and WVSU recently launched the university’s Smart Bro Hangout Spot, a space personally designed by WVSU students where they may stay in between classes and enjoy Smart Bro Prepaid Pocket WiFi’s fast and reliable connectivity for educational or entertainment purposes, especially for those students who are always on the go and those who are heavy data users.

“We at Smart remain committed as reliable partners for students’ connectivity needs as the new academic year begins. The Smart Bro Hangout Spot design contest gives students the chance to experience the power of Smart in addition to fostering their creativity. This initiative highlights Smart’s efforts to support students’ academic performance and increase their productivity this back-to-school season,” said Antonette Orpilla, Senior Manager, Communities Marketing, Smart Go-To-Market and Subscriber Management.

“The WVSU University Student Council is deeply grateful for the support that Smart gives to our students and for enabling us to offer them the best. We also thank Smart for providing us with a beautiful hangout spot that also meets our connectivity needs. We are hoping to have a successful year ahead with Smart,” said Hannah Chealsea Fellese Binarao, Chairperson, WVSU University Student Council.

During the launch, Smart distributed free stickers to those students who visited the hangout spot. Smart also gave tote bags as game prizes and raffled off water bottles.

The formal launch was also joined by the following Smart representatives: Art Lamayo, Area Development Manager for Panay Island; Stephanie Garzon, Community Development Officer; Jovel dela Cruz, Customer Development Manager; and representatives from RD Oneworld and PD WCK.

Participating universities in the Smart Bro Hangout Spot Design Contest will get the chance to win exciting prizes and upgrade their hangout spots.
