Globe At Home named Most Consistent Broadband Provider in key Visayas areas

The company spent a record $1.9 billion last year on capital expenditures. It also allocated an additional $2.3 billion for the next two years to further improve and expand its network infrastructure.

Globe maintains its reputation for providing the most consistent internet service to its broadband customers in key provinces in the Visayas.

According to Ookla Speedtest Intelligence Q1 2023 data, Globe emerged as the Most Consistent broadband provider in Antique with a 69.68 percent consistency score, Samar with 66.13 percent, Leyte with 60.42 percent, and Eastern Visayas with 59.46 percent.

Ookla calculates consistency score based on the percentage of a provider’s data samples that meet minimum thresholds for download and upload speeds, set at 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload for fixed networks.

Globe remains steadfast in its pledge to provide unparalleled consistency to broadband customers across the country, in line with its commitment to economic growth and development under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

As such, it invests significantly in network builds to deliver fast and dependable connectivity to households and enterprises in the Visayas region and the rest of the nation.

In the first quarter of 2023, Globe built 220 new cell sites and upgraded 3,000 mobile sites to LTE. It also rolled out 118,000 fiber-to-the-home lines, as it shifted focus to maximizing its fiber inventory.

In 2022, 86 percent of Globe’s capital expenditure was dedicated to fulfilling data requirements and ensuring that customers can access top-notch digital solutions and connectivity regardless of their location. The company’s efforts included the construction of 1,702 new cell sites, the upgrade of 13,600 mobile sites, and the installation of 2,267 5G cell towers.
