The provincial government of Negros Occidental has partnered with Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) to give a new and improved look to the province’s tourism blocks under their Balik Tourism program.
These tourism blocks placed at the Provincial Capitol Park and Lagoon depict famous tourism sites in the province, which aim to help attract tourists and further the tourism initiatives of the provincial government to help promote Negros Occidental and improve the livelihood of many Negrosanons.
“We’d like to thank Smart for these tourism blocks. Indeed, this is a great addition to our Provincial Capitol Park and Lagoon which is one of the spots where people would usually come and have their pictures taken,” says Gov. Eugenio Lacson of Negros Occidental Province.
“Despite the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we believe Negrosanons remain hopeful that tourists will revisit and witness the beauty of Negros Occidental. Through this support, we at PLDT and Smart are happy to help fulfill this hope and strengthen our partnership with the provincial government,” says Allan Luna, Smart Area Development Manager for Negros Island.
These efforts form part of PLDT and Smart’s support to provincial and local government units in their goals to boost the country’s tourism industry in the new normal.
