The surge in e-commerce adoption during the pandemic not only changed consumer shopping habits, it also boosted the growth of the industry.
Martin Yu, director at Shopee Philippines, in his opening remarks at the Shopee 10.10 Brand Festival, said the Global Web Index (GWI) reported that the e-commerce industry jumped five years forward in just a year. The index also showed that new shopping habits emerged as 49% of consumers will continue to shop online even after the return to normal. Apart from this, the index also saw the need for more engaging experiences online as 29% of Internet users across seven countries watch live streams and 80% of them converted to online buyers after the stream.
E-commerce platform Shopee designs schemes to cater these changing behaviors. Yu said Shopee will provide its users with the best shopping experiences through games, live streams, entertainment and other engaging activities as they shop for everything they need. Shopee also works with brands to help them reach new customers and unlock growth opportunities online. By innovating, the shopping portal will provide brands with more methods to increase their presence and reach all types of consumers, including new online shoppers in engaging ways.
The users, on the other hand, will be assisted, through Shopee Mall, in finding everything they need as they shop directly from over 28,000 trusted brands. Besides, users are guaranteed a seven-day return policy and free shopping promos for leading brands to ensure safe shopping experience. Shopee onboards more brands to offer shoppers the widest variety of products and brand deals every year.
To give brands more ways to engage their customers across the entire shopping journey, Shopee designs comprehensive suite of marketing solutions and strategies for brands to increase their online presence. In June this year, it introduced the Shopee Mall Brand Membership program, a new customer management and retention tool that enables brands to build deeper connections with potential and existing customers, converting them into valuable lifetime clients. To date, Shopee onboarded 780,000 members who can enjoy rewards from their trusted brands.
Meanwhile, Shopee unveiled this year’s 10.10 Brands Festival, a campaign which showcases brands where shoppers can enjoy discounts and best deals as well as free shipping with no minimum spend. The festival will run until October 10.
Shopee also welcomed actress Kim Chiu as its new brand ambassador.
