Lenovo unveiled the newest laptops under the ThinkPad model, and new batch of ThinkVision monitors. These are ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4, ThinkPad L13 Gen 2, ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2, ThinkVision M15 mobile monitor, ThinkVision T24m-20 display and MC50 webcam.
ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4
The company offers the latest technology to its customers with its redesigned and re-engineered ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 laptop that is powered by up to the latest 11th Gen Intel Core i9 H-Series vPro processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX laptop graphics, up to 64GB DDR4 memory and up to 4TB of storage with Gen 4 performance PCIe Solid-State Drive (SSD) support, and is boosted by optional 5G wireless WAN for high-speed access to cloud data, and Intel WiFi 6/6E mobile connectivity performance. The device is energized by a standard 90Whr battery which offers up to 10.7 hours of battery life.
The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 comes with a 16-inch 16:10 panel display with ultra-thin bezels along with Dolby Vision support, a new FHD webcam, dual noise-cancelling microphones and a user-facing Dolby Atmos speaker system that is 20% larger than previous generation. To minimize eye fatigue, the device has Low Blue Light displays as well as a 115mm TouchPad and 1.5mm keystroke backlit.
The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 is also equipped with an FHD hybrid IR 1080p camera, with webcam privacy shutter. The laptop, which is thin at just 17.7mm and weighs 1.81kg or 3.99 pounds, is protected by ThinkShield for enterprise-class security features, vivid displays, and advanced mobile graphics options.
The device also provides security features having fingerprint reader integrated into the power button for easier sign on through Windows Hello, a larger 115mm touchpad that cater to users who prefer this control method to the legendary TrackPoint and rapid access keys that allow quick answer and hang up of audio and video calls.
Users of this laptop need not worry about overheating as Lenovo developed three new complementary cooling systems for the NVIDIA RTX configured models. A hybrid cooling system uses both traditional heat pipes as well as a large vapor chamber to keep intensive graphics running optimally. A keyboard air intake increases the air to flow over the top and bottom of the cooling system to improve thermal insulation.
New Additions to ThinkPad L series
On the ThinkPad L series, new additions include the ideal choice for today’s hybrid workstyles, ThinkPad L13 Gen 2, and ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2, the first Windows 10 convertible laptop powered by the latest AMD Ryzen mobile processors with AMD Radeon Graphics and PRO versions.
The ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 2 is powered by a 46Whr battery that can deliver multimode versatility for up to 10.6 hours per day. The device has an optional integrated pen designed to work on the tough-enabled display with its write, draw, scroll and swipe functions.
On the other hand, the ThinkPad L13 Gen 2, which delivers secure clamshell laptop experience, is equipped with the same core components as the L13 Yoga and up to 10.8 hours of battery life.
These new additions also offer flexible docking options and Modern Standby, the black or silver L13 laptops include built-in ThinkShield security solutions such as Windows Hello facial recognition, a Match on Chip fingerprint reader, along with a physical webcam shutter and AMD security features, intended to enhance data and device protection.
ThinkVision Monitors
Lenovo also introduced new monitors – ThinkVision M15 mobile monitor, ThinkVision MC50 monitor webcam, and ThinkVision T24m-20 – which cater to the demands of customers.
The ThinkVision M15 mobile monitor, which weighs just 860 grams (1.9 pounds), almost doubles the X1 Extreme viewing space with an extra 15.6 inches of FHD screen real-estate, easily connected via a USB Type-C cable that offers power pass-through for a one cable solution. It can even connect to a compatible smartphone with a full-function USB Type-C port.
Whether adding a convenient second display in a home office, or comfortably sharing content with colleagues, ThinkVision M15 is suitable for extended use because of its ergonomic height adjustment stand and equipped with a TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light technology to reduce eye strain.
On the other hand, the 23.8-inch FHD monitor, ThinkVision T24m-20, is an effective one cable USB Type-C docking solution that supports data, audio/video, Ethernet signal transfer and up to 90W power delivery to compatible devices. It also supports more advanced functions such as daisy chain for a multi monitor configuration and a mirrored power button can turn on a compatible connected PC. It also comes with Lenovo Display Control Centre software called ThinkColor which helps users seamlessly multitask and make advanced screen adjustments through single or multi-display windows in a simple point-and-click user interface.
The new ThinkVision MC50 monitor webcam is designed to fit any current ThinkVision P or T series monitor. However, it is suited to transform the T24m-20 into an affordable video conferencing hub. With built-in dual noise cancelling microphones, this FHD 1080p webcam delivers great audio-visual quality and has a smart traffic light that illuminates a red light on top of the webcam when the user is in a conference call, thereby informing colleagues or family members that the user is busy.
With plug-and-play USB connection, the MC50 has a tilt and swivel function so only the camera needs to be repositioned, not the whole monitor, and includes a physical camera shutter and an anti-theft attachment for added security.
