Acer announced that the Asia-Pacific Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final is officially happening in the Philippines from April 6 to April 11 at the SM Arena.
The league was scheduled last year but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the grand final event was postponed as the health and safety of the gaming community is of primary concerns to Acer.
“We are proud to host the third Asia-Pacific Predator League last year but because of the pandemic, we have to postpone it. Currently, because of the pandemic, I would like everyone to stay safe and healthy,” said Acer’s managing director Manuel Wong, adding that “we will bring you the best experience and excitement during this event.”
The Asia-Pacific Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final will be divided into four sub-tournaments, two for Dota 2 and two for PlayersUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG, where teams were pre-assigned to their designated sub-tournament. Teams who qualified for Predator League 2020 Grand Final as well as organizations invited by Acer can finally display their skills in the upcoming online-only tournament.
According to Sue Ong-Lim, general manager at Predator Philippines, they are finally doing the grand final which will be joined by 17 regions in the Asia-Pacific and 46 teams that will play for Dota 2 and PUBG. A total pool prize of US$400,000 will be given away to the winners. On top of that, the most coveted APAC Predator League Shield will also be given to the champion. Apart from these prizes, Acer Predator products will also be given to the winners.
Six esports teams will represent the Philippines to the Predator League 2020/21. For the battle royale game PUBG, the teams include ArkAngel Predator, TroubleMaku, and Gamers Lounge while for DOTA 2, the teams are TNC Predator, Neon Esports, and Reckoning Esports.
Matches will be broadcasted on Acer Predator’s Facebook and Twitch channels.
Ong-Lim also mentioned that Predator has prepared something special for the fans in the gaming community which ultimately makes Predator products more accessible to all aspiring gamers. “From March 24 to April 18, we are offering up to PhP40,000 off on Predator products, starting with Predator Helio and Predator monitors as well.
