SanDisk unveils extremely fast USB 3.0 stick, new dual USB 2.0 drive

SanDisk Corporation has introduced a high-end USB 3.0 flash drive that can provide write speeds of up to 240MB/s and read speeds of up to 260MB/s. The company also unveiled a dual thumb drive that has a standard Type A USB 2.0 plug on one side, and a Micro-B USB 2.0 plug on the other.

The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive offers an easier way to transfer content via an Android-powered smartphone, a tablet’s micro-USB port, or a computer’s USB connection.

Targeted at high-end users, the SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive features professional-grade performance (up to 60 times faster than the standard USB 2.0 drives which only offer write-speeds of 4MB/s), and 128GB of storage.

With its fast write and read speeds, the SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive is possibly the fastest USB 3.0 drive that offers 128GB of storage. It allow users to transfer a full-length movie in seconds or 1,000 hi-res photo in less than 35 seconds, making the drive a perfect device for storing photos and videos. According to Multimedia Research Group, Inc., this is just one of the contributing factors why USB 3.0-enabled device shipments can be expected to surpass two billion in 2016, up from 600 million (approx.) in 2013.

SanDisk’s Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive comes in a sophisticated and durable aluminum metal casing that protects it against wear and tear. Every purchase also comes with a SanDisk SecureAccess 2.0 software, which provides up to 128-bit of AES file encryption and password protection to secure private files while leaving the rest of the drive visible for sharing. The drive also comes with a lifetime limited warranty and customer support.

The SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive is only available in 128GB capacity and is not cheap, as it comes at a suggested retail price of Php13,500.

Unlike other methods of transferring files that require wires, applications or a wireless set-up, the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive simply needs to be connected to a mobile device supporting USB on-the-go (OTG) to access up to 64GB of ‘plug and play’ storage capacity. Additionally, the drive’s dual USB ports feature a retractable cover, so no caps get lost while still keeping the connectors safe.

SanDisk is making content management even easier with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, available for download on Google Play. With the SanDisk Memory Zone app, users are able to better organize files stored on internal and external phone memory for management, viewing, copying and backup.

The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive are available in 16GB (Php980), 32GB (Php1,600) and 64GB (Php2,980) capacities.
