In the world of technology and the internet, one of the most highly-awaited developments is the arrival of 5G internet. This is set to revolutionize the way in which people use the internet all over the world, with lightning-fast speeds making it possible to access even the heaviest and most detailed content within minutes, whether you are on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. 5G is already being rolled out in a few countries, and should be available almost all over the world by the end of 2021. Thus, we are also seeing smartphone manufacturers begin to prepare for this by launching their 5G-enabled smartphones, and Kyocera is the latest one in this line.
The Duraforce Ultra 5G is Kyocera’s 5G offering, but it is more than just that. With rubber bumpers and super-sturdy construction, this phone is intended for those who are outside most of the time, being able to withstand the worst that the elements can throw at it, and is even capable of becoming a WiFi hotspot with a signal strong enough to work on multiple devices. It uses Verizon’s UWB 5G system, which is renowned for working well in outdoor urban areas, and this is in line with Kyocera’s Duraforce range of phones, which are designed to appeal to outdoor folks.
This phone has a 4500mAh battery which supports both wired and wireless charging, a 5.45 inch screen, and a Snapdragon 765G processor. It runs Android 10 at the moment, and will of course support future updates, which, allied with the super fast processor and 5G internet, should make it easy and enjoyable to download and play online casino games like viking runecraft bingo, and other high-powered games without any buffering.
It also has two cameras at the back of the phone, with one being a 24MP and the other being 16MP, while there is also a time-of-flight sensor for accurate AR measuring, which should once again help in various games. The front camera is an 8MP camera, while the speakers are quite loud, capable of producing sound as high as 106dB. It is dustproof, waterproof and will not burn, which is in keeping with the outdoors theme, while it is also quite hefty at a weight of more than nine ounces.
The phone has a physical fingerprint sensor for unlocking it, while its Wi-Fi and network capabilities are suited towards corporate networks, making it a good phone for those working in corporate IT as well. The best way for this phone to use its 5G capabilities is for it to serve as a hotspot for other users, since its inbuilt modem means that it will be extremely fast anyway, on regular networks. The Duraforce is therefore quite practical for those who work outdoors, and perhaps need super fast networks, both for themselves as well as their colleagues, while it does not make sense for those who will be indoors, since its best features are for the outdoors.
The Duraforce Ultra 5G is thus an excellent offering from Kyocera, which takes advantage of the impending 5G technology to the fullest, to practically turn a phone into an Internet device for multiple people, when used as a hotspot. Its own features are also good enough for it to be used as a multimedia device, or in general as how people use smartphones in general.
Kyocera has yet to announce a price for the phone, but it will be available at some point in Q1 2021, which means that the launch is not too far away. One can expect this phone to be an interesting option in the market for 5G phones, especially among those who need to spend time outdoors.
