The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) awarded Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) the Outstanding Humanitarian Award for Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR). The recognition was for the initiative and support for the organization’s efforts in in helping communities in times of calamities and amid the pandemic.
In May 2020, HFI donated 104 motorcycle units–52 red units each of TMX125 alpha and Wave 110 alpha–with insulated top boxes to PRC. These motorcycles will be used by PRC volunteers and staff in its 104 Chapters nationwide. The endowment also provides PRC with a fast and high-quality mode of transportation.
“We, at Honda, are one with the Philippine Red Cross in providing a helping hand to those in need. With our innovative mindset, we recognize the power of our motorcycles in helping this organization in all its much-needed humanitarian efforts,” said Mr. Susumu Mitsuishi, HFI Member of the Board of Trustees.
HFI is the arm of the Honda group of companies in the Philippines that oversees and manages its corporate social responsibility programs and activities, such as promoting road safety, protecting the environment, supporting the youth, and addressing local community needs.
“Honda has always been present in protecting the lives of Filipinos, especially during crises like the Taal Volcano eruption, the current COVID-19 pandemic, and even the series of typhoons. In 67 years of its trustworthy services, Honda Philippines, Incorporated has been supportive to the Philippine Red Cross for a decade now,” Mr. Mitsuishi said.
The donation project is in line with Honda’s ONE DREAM campaign, which aims to make Honda motorcycles an essential tool in saving lives and helping institutions like the PRC by enabling the group to respond rapidly during crises.
