Formerly known as KapitWiFi, KonekTayo WiFi is a fast and secure community WiFi service that aims to provide households with affordable internet. With KonekTayo WiFi, customers simply need to connect to a KonekTayo WiFi hotspot, purchase a promo and surf all day.

Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO, says, “Our focus is always to serve and empower Filipino families and communities, particularly those with limited resources. KonekTayo WiFi promises the affordability, accessibility and ease of use that most low-income Filipino homes need. And this partnership with AIC strongly complements our efforts to boost network capacity and coverage through infrastructure in a cost-efficient manner.”

Cosette Canilao, Aboitiz InfraCapital President and Chief Executive Officer shares, “We are pleased to be working with Globe on this innovative project that aims to make the internet accessible to underserved Filipinos in different parts of the country. This new partnership is consistent with our commitment to help uplift lives through better infrastructure, especially amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Using AIC’s existing pole network located in the said areas, KonekTayo WiFi will be deployed for fast and reliable internet within communities, allowing customers to access KonekTayo WiFi from their homes. This is in line with the long-standing mission of KonekTayo WiFi to connect more Filipino communities and empower them with an internet service that is well within their means.

To avail of the service, a customer simply has to connect their WiFi-enabled device, register their mobile number, and purchase a KonekTayo WiFi package which starts for as low as P15 for 1GB, valid for one day.

As of this year, the KonekTayo WiFi is present in select residential areas in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Cebu, Tacloban and Iloilo, with plans of more rollouts nationwide in 2021.
