Acer introduced a new lineup of TravelMate series of commercial notebooks for enterprise users, and consumer notebooks across the Swift, Spin, and Aspire series, all featuring the power of 11th Gen Intel Core processors with the new Intel Iris X graphics designed to enhance performance and power for both work and play.
The new devices under the TravelMate series include the TravelMate Spin P4 convertible with a touchscreen, the TravelMate P4 portable notebook for those who prefer traditional clamshell models, and the TravelMate P2 which has enough ports and longer battery life to handle anything in a day’s work. The consumer notebooks, on the other hans, comprise of Acer Swift 3x, Acer Spin 5, Acer Spin 3, and Acer Aspire 5. Intended for use in today’s digitally driven world, these notebooks offer striking features and supported by portable form factors and elegant designs.
Acer TravelMate series
Supported by 11th Gen Intel Core processors, the TravelMate series also comes with Iris X graphics or up to NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPUs and loaded with up to 32GB DDR4 RAM to render performance on heavy workflows. For a more enhanced performance, the new TravelMate lineup offers 4 lane PCIe SSDs, and 1TB M.2 SSD storage. Users can expect to get through the entire work in a day as both Acer TravelMate Spin 4 and TravelMate P4 are energized by batteries that can last up to 15 hours, while the TravelMate P2 can stand with up to 13 hours of battery life.
The Acer TravelMate Spin P4, which sports a scratch resistant 14-inch Full High Definition (HD) touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass NBT, is a convertible PC that features a 360-degree hinge that flips the display, allowing it to be used in four modes: as a laptop, stand, tent, or tablet modes. This model is equipped with a Precision Touchpad that provides intuitive gesture control, and a dockable Acer Active stylus and Windows Ink to allow for a convenient drawing and note taking.
With the shift to work-at-home amid the pandemic, both Acer TravelMate Spin P4 and TravelMate P4 are packed with a number of quality-of-life updates that ultimately help workers adapt to make working at home easier. Built to comply with MIL-STD-810G standards , these notebooks are equipped with life-proof features such as drops or bumps that occur while moving around the house. Besides, these devices come with upward facing speakers, which allow for clearer-sounding conference calls, and both TravelMate P4 and Spin P4 can be fast charged to up to 80% in just an hour.
With a semi-metal form factor, new TravelMate series are portable as it is light in design with TravelMate Spin P4 weighing 1.53kg (3.37 lbs.), TravelMate P4 is lighter at 1.45kg (3.2 lbs), and TravelMate P2 at 1.625kg (or 3.58 lbs). Both TravelMate Spin P4 and P4 under 18mm while P2 is 20mm thin.
The three TravelMate models come with Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) to ensure a smoother wireless experience and have eSIM-enabled 4G LTE connectivity which allows business travelers enjoy connectivity on local networks and quickly set up new data plans without having to swap out SIM cards or visit stores. These models also have an Intel Thunderbolt 4 port, enabling fast data transfer of up to 40Gbs – four times the data and twice the video bandwidth of any other port type, and Acer Office Manager for remote management.
For security purposes, both TravelMate Spin P4 and P4 are equipped with Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, an anti-tampering chip that checks for signs of intrusion during system boot up. The notebooks also come with IR cameras and fingerprint readers for more secure logins through Windows Hello, and a built-in webcam cover to further protect privacy.
Acer Swift 3x
On the consumer notebook segment, the Acer Swift 3x is powered by 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel Iris X MAX discrete graphics solution designed to offer creative professionals such as photographers and YouTubers capabilities and powerful on-the-go performance for work and gaming. With a sleek form factor, and weighs 1.37kg, the device breezes through the most task-intensive apps for up to 17.5 hours at a time and, if necessary, can also be fast-charged to provide four hours of use in just 30 minutes.
The Acer Swift 3x boasts a 14-inch FHD IPS screen that covers 72% of the NSTC color gamut and offers an 84% screen-to-body ratio, while content loads more quickly thanks to the faster connection speeds of Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+). The notebook also comes with an array of ports, including USB-C, Thunderbolt 4 and USB3.2 Gen 2, for a fast and convenient data transfer.
Acer Spin 5
Leveraging the power of 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris X graphics, the Acer Spin 5, which weighs 1.2kg and measures 14.9mm thin, is designed at those seeking extreme productivity. A touchscreen convertible notebook, the Acer Spin 5 features a 360-degree hinge design that enables it to transform into different modes such as tablet mode for taking notes or clamshell mode for typing, where the keyboard is slightly elevated for an ergonomic experience and better thermal performance. The touch screen and touchpad are covered by an optional layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass.
The device’s side bezels, which measures 7.78mm, allows for an 80% screen-to-body ratio. These are further expanded with a 3:2 IPS VertiView display that provides 18% more screen real, allowing ample room to make creations come alive with the integrated Acer Active Stylus by Wacom AES technology. This convertible PC runs using a battery that provides 15-hour of energy, and equipped with USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 certifications, Killer 1650 Wi-Fi and dual front-facing speakers.
Acer Spin 3 is another convertible PC that can be rotated 360-degree, giving users the ability to work and play in four modes. Powered by 11th Gen Intel Core CPUs with Iris X graphics and packed with a 16:10 aspect ratio and up to 2560×1600-resolution multi-touch IPS display, the 13.3-inch notebook offers professional artists and artists solid performance.
Spin 3 also comes with a built-in Acer Active Stylus with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity to make the most of the touch screen when sketching or writing. This notebook also comes with
dual SSDs, a pair of USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 and Killer 1650 Wi-Fi.
Acer Aspire 5
Like Acer Swift 3, Spin 5 and Spin 3, the Acer Aspire 5 is also powered by 11th Gen Intel processors with Iris X graphics for a powerful performance. It also leverages the power of NVIDIA GeForce MX450 GPUs, allowing the device to do multiple tasks simultaneously. The notebook’s FHD IPS touch screen display is surrounded by narrow bezels to have over 80% screen-to-body ratio. Apart from these, the device is loaded with up to 24GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB M.2 PCIe SSD and 2TB HDD storage. It has an ergonomic hinge design that lifts its body and tilts the keyboard on angle for comfortable typing, better sound projection and improved ventilation. The dual band Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) improves network throughput by up to three times and reduces latency by up to 75%.
