Lalamove reaches over 86,000 Asian beneficiaries affected by COVID-19

Lalamove helped facilitate the delivery of over 200,000 essential items from donors, NGOs and businesses to communities in need during the COVID-19 period.

Lalamove helped facilitate the delivery of over 200,000 essential items from donors, NGOs and businesses to communities in need during the COVID-19 period. The initiative, implemented over the last month in a number of markets in which the company operates, kicked off Lalamove’s long term corporate social responsibility program, Deliver Care.

Lalamove partnered with over 30 NGOs, government departments and businesses, offering free delivery to facilitate the transportation of care packages including over 125,000 face masks, 20,000 food packages, 52,000 bottles of hand sanitiser and 21,000 pieces of personal protective equipment such as gloves and face shields. In total, the items reached more than 86,000 beneficiaries, namely the underprivileged, disabled youths, schools and hospitals.

The activities were carried out in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Manila, Cebu, Bangkok, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unique challenges in restricting movement and disrupting normal supply chains, making the transportation of essential supplies extremely difficult. In markets under a complete lockdown, delivery services were one of the few that were allowed to operate, and that’s when we knew that Lalamove was in a unique position to provide support. We know that we’re stronger when we work together and are happy to do our part in helping communities in need,” said Blake Larson, Managing Director, International, Lalamove.

One of the NGOs that partnered with Lalamove, Aboitiz Foundation, provided much needed donations of medical supplies to frontline medical workers at hospitals around Metro Manila.

“As we in the Aboitiz Foundation continue to deploy much-needed assistance nationwide, we do our best to engage with partners that efficiently help us fulfill our commitments to our partners and communities despite the enhanced community quarantine. With this, we are most grateful to our partners such as Lalamove who help make our donation deliveries possible”, said Maribeth Marasigan, President and Chief Operating Officer of Aboitiz Foundation.

Lalamove is monitoring the situation as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves and will continue to help deliver aid through the Deliver Care initiative.
