Star Telecom Alliance Resources, the company behind Starmobile, announced that as part of its STAR-Tagal campaign – lasting until December 31 – customers who purchase any Starmobile product can get a chance to win over P4 million worth of prizes, tax-free. These include new Starmobile devices, home appliances, eight Honda motorcycles, two brand-new Toyota cars, or P1,000,000 in cash.

When the company began operations in 2011, its founders set out to create a Philippine-based mobile devices brand that adheres to internationally-accepted standards. This principle started to pay off, as STAR Inc.’s complete product line-up is now fully compliant components under the guidelines of organizations such as CE (European Conformity), FCC (Federal Communications Commission-USA) and with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive of the European Union.
Aside from choosing components, suppliers, and processes that have industry certifications, another pillar of the company’s 35-point quality control check that ensures that individual parts such as the USB port, touchscreen, speakers, and batteries, among others, are functioning well.
The company has a move – dubbed Star Standards – where it also ensures that the Android operating system powering its smartphones has been licensed by Google. This means that the software is compliant with Google’s requirements to ensure smooth and seamless operation with its ecosystem of services. This certification is only granted to manufacturers that are able to satisfy the requirements of the Internet company.
