Huawei, considered a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has hosted the Huawei ICT Carnival 2013. Themed “A Better Way”, the event gathered more than 300 partners, customers and media, with Huawei providing an introduction to the company’s enterprise solutions in the Philippines, shared its perspectives on the application of advanced ICT technologies, showcased the company’s latest enterprise products and solutions, and shared case studies of how organizations have enhanced operational efficiency and improved business development with the help of these solutions.
“This ICT Carnival is just one of many examples to demonstrate our ongoing commitment as a dedicated partner of the ICT industry in the Philippines,” said Gavin Dai, CEO of Huawei Technologies Philippines. “The Philippines is an important market to Huawei and we are committed to investing in the country and working with local sectors such as the public utilities, power, transportation and finance industries to better understand and develop solutions that are customized to address their unique challenges.”
As part of the event, Ajay Gupta, director of marketing at Huawei’s Enterprise Group announced two product series at the ICT Carnival including the S12700 series agile switches and the new generation of enterprise-level 802.11ac access points (APs). The two products are part of Huawei’s Enterprise Networking Product Line, which provide the most complete portfolio of enterprise network products in the world, and include routers, switches, WLAN, network security, optical transmission, microwave, PON and network management products.
With a design that was developed to enhance business services and the experience of users, the Huawei S12700 switches support higher reliability and larger Ethernet frames. Featuring automatic network deployment and management, the series also supports end-to-end (E2E) security collaboration with the flexibility for fast-changing services and full programmability. In addition, the S12700 switches feature Huawei’s Ethernet Network Processor (ENP) chips, the industry’s first programmable chipsets dedicated for Ethernet forwarding and are cost-effective, have low power consumption, and provide high performance. The switches also provide native T-bit AC capabilities and the BRAS unified user management feature that integrates wired and the wireless networks. It adopts the iPCA algorithm, which can monitor network quality for any service flow at any network node, at any time, and without extra costs, detecting temporary service interruptions within one second and can identify faulty ports accurately.
Huawei’s new generation of enterprise-level 802.11ac APs includes the 7030DE, 5130DN, and the 5030DN, which helps enterprises construct high-speed, high-density wireless networks. The Huawei Gigabit AP 7030DE provides significantly improved throughput, increasing data rates from 450Mbps to 1.3Gbps in the 5GHz band and from 450Mbps to 600Mbps in the 2.4GHz band. In addition, it features smart antenna technology and support for implicit beamforming for improved performance, and two Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports and Power over Ethernet support for optimal data and power redundancy. The 5130DN and 5030DN also supports 1.4Gbps throughput in the 5GHz band and features two Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports.
During the carnival, Huawei also shared case studies of projects with the government and public utilities sectors.
The company has more than 1,300 employees in the Philippines, with more than 50 partners such as Subicworx and Netpoleon and deploying ICT solutions for the education, transportation, grid sector and other large enterprises.
