Philippine technology brand Starmobile is adding two dual-SIM feature phones to its lineup of affordable mobile devices.
The B208 and B306, available starting the third week of March and the middle of April, respectively, are accessibly-priced dual-SIM feature phones that have long battery lives. The B208, priced at Php 599, can last up to 120 hours – a full five-day work week – on standby. Meanwhile the B306, priced at Php 899, can have enough power for up to two weeks.
“While smartphones are more popular than ever, the demand for basic call-and-text feature phones still thrives in the Philippines,” said Starmobile Product Development Head Michael Chen. “Their affordability allows them to be great daily drivers for a large segment of the population, while their focused call-and-text services and compact screens allow them to be very power efficient.”
In countryside areas with limited data connection, feature phones provide a lifeline to farmers, fisherfolk, and other rural workers. During times of emergencies, they help people coordinate with their loved ones. For people constantly on the go, they are useful as backup devices. “Many of us often have long days – doing field work, travelling to far-off destinations, or going from one appointment to the next and getting stuck in traffic in between – when we find our smartphones and even our power banks running out of juice,” said Chen.
The B208 comes with an FM radio, camera with flash, expandable memory, flashlight, and supports multimedia playback. It is available in red, blue, or black. Meanwhile, the B306 is equipped with a flashlight, super loudspeaker perfect for sharing music and videos, and camera with video recording. It comes in gray, gold, and black.
