India-based enterprise software provider, Ramco Systems, has announced its entry into the Philippine market with the opening of a new office – the fourth in the ASEAN region and 21st globally – to address the market opportunity arising in the Philippines as well as in the region, and offer cloud-based technologies to transform local enterprises in the areas of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Aviation, and Logistics.
Operating under the name Ramco Systems, Inc., the wholly-owned local subsidiary was set up at a time when technological disruption is very pronounced in the country. “It’s happening,” said P.R. Venketrama Raja, Founder, Vice Chairman and Managing Director at Ramco Systems. “The Philippines is very exciting for us.”“I think we can bring in a lot of value and efficiency to Philippine businesses,” said Raja. “Given the excellent technical manpower in the Philippines, it will also serve as a base for addressing our clients in the ASEAN region. With focus on innovation and cloud, we look forward to becoming the region’s most favored cloud enterprise software provider.”
Ramco’s enterprise software is similar to a comprehensive ERP and is based on an architecture that is fully multi-tenanted and runs on iOS, Android and Windows platform.
Cognitive and robotics ERP
The company is moving towards cognitive and robotics ERP which has the following features: “Mail It” which enables users to transact with the application by just sending an email to take the appropriate action; “Thumb It” which senses context and defaults the most probable transaction and lists down other often used transaction; “Prompt It” or a cognitive ability which will let the system complete the transaction and prompts the user for approval; and “Hub It” which is a one-stop-action center that addresses all activities of a user.
“The new-generation ERP we are bringing in can help users control operations far better. And because of its drive for efficiency, you have to shift the products from tier to tier now; depends on the kind of vendors you have to find; and have productions secure. All these things are now seamlessly coming into the software,” said Raja.
Regarding its advantage over other ERP solutions, Raja said their system is much more simple and much more agile that you can use it to control rather than monitor your company. He also said that they work with Amazon regarding security of data on the cloud.
Raja relayed that they already have six clients who are using the full suite of Ramco system, and is still looking for more partners. He mentioned Air Plus, Max’s Group of Companies, and the Ayala-owned IMI as some of their customers. He also said that they are hoping to add six clients every quarter.
With around four or five persons focusing on the Philippine market, the company is concentrating on human resource, logistics and service industries.
The company is also looking at the Philippines as a support center as it grows.
