LG Electronics (LG) has launched the PD233 Pocket Photo, an innovative smart mobile printer that is reminiscent of the Polaroid days.
Priced at Php8,000, the lightweight gadget enables users to print photos wirelessly using Bluetooth connection and Near Field Communication (NFC) by simply tagging the smartphone on top of the Pocket Photo.
Supporting Android and iOS smartphones, the LG Pocket Photo employs inkless printing technology from ZINK, a technology that eliminates the need for expensive ink cartridges, to print a 2″x 3″ photo in 45 seconds.
ZINK’s inkless paper system is supposed to preserve images longer and produce less smearing. A pack of 30 ZINK papers costs Php600.
Pictures for printing can also be edited using the LG Pocket App. The app offers a range of editing tools that allows users to perform simple touch-ups, including cropping and coloring.
LG says the the PD233 Pocket Photo is ideal for use in printing customized birthday party invitations and ‘thank you’ cards.
The LG Pocket Photo brings out a new and creative way of sharing photographs to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter through the QR codes. The QR codes can be read with any barcode scanning app, linking people to social networking sites or other online content.
