CloudFone mobile phone maker Cellprime Distribution Corporation (Cellprime) announced new partnerships and collaborations.
This year, aside from CloudFone’s new offerings, the company will unveil a range of smartphones, tablets and mobile accessories through partnership with technology, lifestyle, sports, entertainment and gaming providers and brands such as Gionee, Hyundai, Microsoft/Windows 10, NBA, PBA, Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Spotify, and XboxLive.
“Since we started, our operation is anchored on partnership that helps propel the business,” said Eric Yu, president of Cellprime.
Yu added that some of the elements of their business strategy are to elevate the way they designed or developed their products, content partnership and marketing strategy.
Cellprime already collaborated with some names in the field of music, entertainment, sports and gaming industries to come up with CloudFone Special Edition smartphones and tablets that match with the demands of over 60% of the country’s mobile population, which comprise users aged between 13 and 30 years old.
The partnership with Spotify in end-2015 provided CloudFone Special Edition phones with free data to use Spotify app and bundled with earphones, headphones and casing. This year, CloudFone Special Edition smartphones and tablets are bundled with Disney, Marvel and Star Wars accessories. Powered by the Intel Atom x3 quadcore mobile processor (codenamed SoFIA 3GR), these devices will be available through company’s dealers and retailers by February, with prices starting from P4,999.
Aside from these, CloudFone also collaborated with Microsoft that resulted in a Special Edition CloudFone Epic 8.0 tablet pre-loaded with Windows 10, and Xbox game HALO and keyboard. For sports enthusiasts, CloudFone is now the official mobile phone of the NBA and PBA.
CloudFone released an array of devices this year which consist of the following: the CloudFone Excite Prime, which is powered by an octacore mobile processor, has 13MP and 5MP camera, 16GB and 2GB memory and HD screen, and provided with free protective case and earphone, is priced at P3,999; the Metal Series of the CloudFone Thrill Lite at P1,999 and CloudFone Thrill HD at P2,999.
This January, the company will launch four Gionee mobile phone models, consisting of P5W which is sold at P4,499; S Plus, P9,999; M5, P11,999, and P8 at P23,999.
Cellprime also handles Hyundai AERO which is priced at P13,999.
On the marketing side, Jaime Alcantara, chief operating officer at Cellprime, said that the company will focus on store visibility through increased sales channels to include traditional and non-traditional channels, sub-distribution and online channels. They will also promote branding awareness through print media, social media, campus tours, and sales blitzes.
The company will increase its selling points to 3,000 including tiangges; while Gionee and Hyundai concept stores will grow to about 300 including inline and kiosks. CloudFone, Gionee and Hyundai will have 20 service centers, 30 authorized service partners and 10 drop-off points.
Target sales volume for this year, according to Alcantara, is 60% for CloudFone, 20% for Gionee, 10% for Hyundai, and 10% for other brands.
