Microsoft Philippines unveiled Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, the company’s new flagship Windows devices that come pre-loaded with Windows 10 operating system and feature Windows Hello beta for Lumia and Continuum for phones which – when plugged in Microsoft Display Dock accessory – makes them work like a PC.
The Lumia 950, which weighs 150 grams, is powered by a Hexa-core 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor; equipped with 30GB of storage that is expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card slot; and a 3GB of RAM. It also has a 5.2-inch high definition (HD) display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.
The Lumia 950 XL, on the other hand, uses an Octa-core 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 as its processor, and comes with 3GB of RAM and a 30GB of storage with a microSD card slot that can store data up to 200GB. Slightly heavier at 165 grams, the device has a 5.7-inch HD display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels.
For connectivity, both phones have dual-band 802 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1.
The two phones also boast PureView (with Zeiss optics) cameras having 20 megapixel rear sensors and triple LED natural flash that shoot 4K video.
Lumia 950 is energized by Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery while Lumia 950 XL uses the Li-Ion 3340 mAh battery. These batteries can be wirelessly charged.
These phones use the latest USB Type-C connector. Windows Hello is also installed on the phones for quick and secure unlocking.
The phones are integrated with Cortana to provide news updates, calendar reminders, messages, appointments and even flight information. Aside from this, these devices have a liquid cooling feature to keep internal temperatures down.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL phones – in black and white colors – can be purchased at a suggested retail price of P28,999, and P32,990, respectively. The Microsoft display dock can be bought at P3,390.
