Sony Mobile has unveiled to the Philippine market the world’s first 4K Ultra HD smartphone, the Xperia Z5 Premium. The phone was launched together with two other phones, the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact.
All phones run on Android 5.1 Lollipop and boast a 23MP camera with front-facing 5MP.
Designed with Sony’s interchangeable lens camera technology, the next-gen camera in the Xperia Z5 series has an autofocus feature that can deliver a speed of 0.03 seconds.
“Smartphones are part of people’s lives,” said Noboyushi Otake, President and Managing Director of Sony Philippines. “Since users already create, share and enjoy most of their content on the go – we’ve set out to bring Sony’s latest innovations in camera, design and display to ensure the Xperia Z5 series is the best possible lifestyle and entertainment platform.”
Photos with less noise and blur
Built to capture split-second moments, the 23-megapixel rear camera offered by the trio is boosted by Exmor RS for mobile sensor to have faster autofocus. This advancement in low-light photography can provide clearer photos at night or in darker surroundings with less noise and blur.

Aside from this, the trio boasts a two-day battery life brought about by Quick Charger 2.0 which enables devices to get 5.5-hour usage with just 10 minutes of charging, or one whole day usage if these were charged for 45 minutes. These devices can be connected to PlayStation 4 Remote Play via home Wi-Fi and use the DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller for a better gaming experience.
Users of Xperia Z5 series will benefit from access to Xperia Lounge Gold, which delivers Sony entertainment in the form of offers, new apps, latest movies, TV episodes and music included with their device.
