Stan Hubbard, the veteran Carrier Ethernet analyst, has been appointed as the director of communications and research for the MEF. Hubbard, who was previously senior analyst at independent research organization Heavy Reading for nine years, will be part of the MEF’s Marketing team responsible for developing and communicating MEF initiatives to members, press, analysts and industry.

Stan Hubbard is a communications professional with 16 years of experience in industry analysis, forecasting, and strategic marketing. Hubbard spent 9 years as a Senior Analyst at Heavy Reading, where he focused on carrier Ethernet services and network equipment markets, software defined networking, optical/data network convergence, and various wireline technologies. He was the founding coordinator of Heavy Reading’s Ethernet Executive Council program involving senior service provider experts worldwide. Hubbard also chaired ~20 major carrier Ethernet events in the United States, Europe, and Asia, including Light Reading’s annual Ethernet Expo Americas and Ethernet Europe conferences.
Prior to joining Heavy Reading, Hubbard worked seven years with Ciena, most recently as director of market intelligence. During his tenure there, he led the analyst team conducting industry, customer, and competitive analysis and managed the company’s industry analyst relations program. Hubbard holds a B.S. in political science from Texas Christian University and a Master’s in international diplomacy and security from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston, MA.
