The judging panel for each region will be made up of five global and regional analysts and leading industry experts. The finalists will be notified on October 23rd at the MEF quarterly meeting in Seattle. The winners will be formally announced on November 20, 2013.
“The MEF Carrier Ethernet Awards go from strength to strength,” stated Kevin Vachon, MEF chief operating officer. “This year we are streamlining the categories to reflect the expansion of the Carrier Ethernet market where the enterprise focus is on applications and the providers will benefit from wholesale services and good marketing drives the whole Carrier Ethernet industry.”
For each region, as well as the Global Awards, there are now three categories with scoring heavily biased towards innovations introduced over the past 12 months. The “Best Carrier Ethernet Business Application – in a Specific Vertical” Award is looking for innovation and creativity combined with measurable business benefits. The “Best Wholesale Ethernet Service” Award rewards the service provider with the most robust wholesale service offering extending the reach of Ethernet services including Mobile Backhaul and Ethernet Business Services. The “Best Marketing” Award recognizes creativity, coverage, and proven effectiveness in educating the market and promoting Carrier Ethernet.
The “Regional Service Provider of the Year” Award provided in each region will be awarded on the basis of the cumulative score from the above three categories plus additional qualifications relating to the company’s specific regional capabilities. Finally, the overall “Global Service Provider of the Year” Award will recognize the service provider with the most comprehensive Ethernet product portfolio and service coverage.
