PLDT Inc. (PLDT) and Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI-Central Visayas) Region 7, donated a #FarmTech training kit to Eden Rocks Taguini Farmers Association in Carmen, Cebu, aiding them in their digital innovation efforts.
The FarmTech training kit is composed of 10 smartphones, a tablet, a SmartBro pocket Wi-Fi with Smart prepaid load cards, an outdoor projector and projector screen, a rechargeable portable sound system, and apps and DA-ATI-developed learning materials.
“This is such a surprising gesture of PLDT and Smart. We are so grateful to be among the recipients of the FarmTech Training kit because we will now be able to cascade our learnings from the 2-day Digital Farmers Training sessions we had to our active and diligent farmers. This donation will be able to help us scale up our digitalization efforts and expand our market reach,” said Amerlita Cole, President of Eden Rocks Taguini Farmers Association.
This effort is part of PLDT and Smart’s award-winning Digital Farmers Program (DFP), supporting the Philippines’ progress towards UN Sustainable Development Goals #1 (No Poverty) and #8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
