Accenture Philippines opened a Sustainability Hub in its Mandaluyong facility to show its commitment as a responsible organization in line with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.
The Sustainability Hub aims to showcase various initiatives that support Accenture’s ESG commitment and help drive value for clients, people and communities. The Hub was conceptualized to provide solutions for its clients relating to environment and how Accenture can be a responsible organization to future generation. In the hub, everything is upcycled, recycled, flexible as possible, and partners with different functions in the organization.
Inside the Sustainability Hub is the Workplace Intelligent Network (WIN) which has been in place since 2018. The goal of Accenture for this command center is to have a one-stop shop for all its ESG-related actions.
As an important force of change, sustainability is embedded in all of the things Accenture does, ensuring that all its activities and processes are sustainable. This way, Accenture is able to create business value and sustainable impact, enabled by technology and human ingenuity.
Accenture is also extending partnerships with its clients across different industries not just to transform their business but help them reinvent with sustainability in mind.
In an Accenture study, which looked at ESG compliance and reporting as a competitive advantage in business reinvention strategies, companies with strong ESG capabilities already consider sustainability as a significant value driver for their organization.
Amabel Gatmaitan, Accenture’s Corporate Services and Sustainability Lead in the Philippines, said, “Accenture believes that just as the digital revolution transformed how we worked and lived, so too, will sustainability. For us at Accenture, sustainability is one of our biggest responsibilities – not just because it’s the right thing to do but also because we recognize it as one of the most powerful forces of change in our generation.”
Gatmaitan adds that sustainability is our responsibility which encompasses ESG issues from transitioning to a zero-carbon economy to inclusion and diversity to corporate citizenship – in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG).
In its sustainability goals, capabilities used by Accenture are a combination of technology and human ingenuity. Capability-wise, Accenture is educating people that are supporting clients on the ESG by giving sustainability trainings aligned with UNSDG, and aligned with industries that the company is supporting.
