The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management (Global Alliance) is set to launch its annual Student and Young Practitioners (SYP) Month with the theme Responsible Communication. The #NextInLine initiative serves as a foundational element of this year’s SYP Month, aiming to empower students and young practitioners to uphold and advance the standards of responsible and ethical communication.
The event will showcase a variety of activities across six global regions. During the first week of October, the #NextInLine Rocket Forum will feature a series of forums, discussions and conferences aimed at developing actionable strategies for responsible communication. Additionally, a global manifesto signing will take place, signifying the participants’ commitment to becoming ethical and responsible young communication professionals.
Meanwhile, the #NextInLine Hero Web Conference will unite young speakers from around the globe, ranging from recent graduates to industry leaders, to engage in impactful discussions. This virtual roundtable, scheduled on October 29, will delve into the future of responsible communication through interactive sessions and shared insights. This provides participants valuable insights and ideas to empower them in their respective fields.
During this web conference, the #NextInLine Responsible Communicators’ Recognition ceremony will honor a total of 60 exceptional candidates, with ten nominees selected from each region, recognizing their outstanding contributions in innovation, social impact and responsible communication.
Additional efforts will also be initiated in alignment with this month-long event. This involves the launch of a dedicated web page to provide students and young practitioners access to internship and job opportunities, and an online hub which will serve as a digital repository of information that supports continuous learning and skill development.
“We believe in the power of the next generation in driving meaningful change in public relations and communication,” said Ana Pista, board member of Global Alliance and chair of the Student and Young Practitioners Month. “This year’s initiative highlights the importance of empowering these emerging leaders with the essential tools and resources they need to elevate industry standards.”
Justin Green, CEO and president of Global Alliance, also expressed his sentiments, stating, “We’re witnessing a shift in how communication shapes societies, and it’s essential that young professionals are not only equipped with technical skills but also a strong ethical foundation. Our goal is to inspire these future leaders to challenge norms, embrace innovation and always prioritize responsibility in their work. This initiative is about ensuring they’re prepared to drive meaningful, positive change in the global communication landscape.”
Global Alliance is committed to providing a platform for students and young practitioners to engage with established industry leaders, forge connections with their peers and participate in international discussions surrounding responsible communication.
