Bossjob expands services in Bicol

Having garnered a strong applicant base in Metro Manila, Bossjob is set to boost job markets in other regions.

Bossjob, the chat-first career platform revolutionizing professional hiring in Southeast Asia (SEA), is bolstering its expansion efforts in the regions in the Philippines following its events in the Bicol region, bringing job opportunities to connect job seekers and hiring managers outside the National Capital Region (NCR).

Having garnered a strong applicant base in Metro Manila, Bossjob is set to boost job markets in other regions. Through strategic partnerships with government agencies, non-government associations, communities, and academic institutions in Bicol, Bossjob aims to enhance employment prospects in other Philippine cities. This initiative supports businesses in their recruitment efforts and stimulates economic growth in the country.

Bossjob’s significant strides in Bicol include signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI). This agreement aims to streamline recruitment processes for MNCCI’s 500+ business members and provide job opportunities to locals. The event, held at the Sundaze Events Center in Naga City, was attended by Naga City Mayor Hon. Nelson Legacion, local government representatives, and MNCCI officials.

Continuing its momentum, Bossjob secured five strategic partnerships at The Oriental Hotel Legazpi. These partnerships with the Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Albay Information and Communications Technology Association (AICTA), Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation, Inc. (SLTCFI), Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Pilar, Inc., and Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Pio Duran, Inc., are designed to enhance recruitment processes and create job opportunities for the community.

The ceremonies in Naga City and Legazpi City were graced by regional and provincial directors from key government agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Tourism (DOT), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and respective local governments.

Bossjob Country Manager Kimberly Chen says the expansion efforts in Bicol align with the hiring platform’s commitment to ensuring access to job opportunities for Filipinos.

“Our mission has always been to ensure that job opportunities are accessible to all Filipinos, regardless of their location. By partnering with local government agencies, business associations, and educational institutions, we aim to invigorate the job market in Bicol and other regions. This initiative not only supports local businesses in their recruitment processes but also contributes to the broader economic growth of the Philippines. We are excited to bring more opportunities to job seekers outside Metro Manila and to help bridge the employment gap in regional areas,” Chen said.

Chen and Bossjob Sales Director Feby Joy Llosala-Luneza represented the company during the events.

The country is experiencing a paradigm shift post-COVID pandemic, with more people leaving Metro Manila. Before the pandemic, internal migration was prevalent, with many people moving from the provinces to the metro primarily driven by economic reasons. While surveys indicate that NCR remains the top destination for first-time migrants, there is a growing demand for housing in areas outside the capital, suggesting that more people are choosing to stay in the regions. This trend underscores the need for job opportunities in key provincial cities across the country, a need that Bossjob is committed to addressing.

Since entering the Philippine market in 2018, Bossjob has been an active player in energizing the local job market. With its innovative mobile, direct chat, and AI-matching model, Bossjob connects highly suitable candidates with employers and matches job seekers with relevant opportunities. As a result, over 80% of job seekers initiate chats with employers upon joining the platform, and employers respond at an impressive average rate of 70%. These interactions have led to a successful matching rate of approximately 50%.

Earlier this year, Bossjob announced a partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR) to boost the employability of technical vocational education and training (TVET) graduates.

Currently serving over 3 million active users in the Philippines and other Asian markets, including Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, Bossjob aims to reach over 30 million users in SEA by 2026. As part of its global expansion efforts, it has started offering free services this year.
