VITRO Inc, Kyndryl boost hybrid cloud strategy of PH banks and conglomerates

VITRO Inc., a subsidiary of ePLDT and the data center arm of the PLDT Group, emphasized the crucial role of adopting a ‘cloud smart’ strategy. This approach leverages both cloud and data center services to ensure business resilience for banks and conglomerates.

At its recent Nexus business forum, VITRO Inc., a subsidiary of ePLDT and the data center arm of the PLDT Group, emphasized the crucial role of adopting a ‘cloud smart’ strategy. This approach leverages both cloud and data center services to ensure business resilience for banks and conglomerates.

The forum addressed the pressing demands and challenges facing enterprises today. According to the 2023 Kyndryl State of IT Risk Report, 88% of financial organizations experienced adverse events disrupting their IT operations over the past two years. These disruptions included IT hardware and network failures, human error, and data center outages. Additionally, the 2024 Enterprise Cloud Index study revealed that 90% of enterprises are integrating a cloud smart strategy into their operations. Despite this, challenges in IT operations continue to threaten business resilience, prompting the need for a hybrid cloud strategy to optimize and secure workloads.

VITRO supports enterprises’ cloud strategies by building resilient, cloud-adjacent data centers. VITRO currently hosts the most local, direct connections to the public cloud in the Philippines through its VITRO Cloud Exchange (VCX), providing enterprises with the flexibility and agility to maximize the benefits of both public and private clouds.

“At VITRO, we enable connections among telcos, enterprises, and cloud service providers. Through these connections, enterprises can optimize their hybrid strategies to succeed in the digital era and be ready for the future,” said Victor S. Genuino, President and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc.

In further strengthening its hybrid cloud support, VITRO has partnered with Kyndryl, the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, to deliver impactful hybrid services. These services are founded on the stability of VITRO data centers and the richness of its digital ecosystem. The partnership ensures enterprises receive end-to-end services, from resilient data center infrastructures to system integration and deploying mission-critical platforms that complement their hybrid cloud strategies.

“At Kyndryl, we are excited to do our part to bolster the Philippines’ rich pool of local technical expertise. Our partnership with VITRO allows us to co-create solutions that help enterprises achieve peak digital performance, resilience, and compliance, enabling them to face the future with confidence,” added Andrew Lim, Managing Director, Kyndryl ASEAN.
