GCash makes sending money from abroad easier, more secure through official remittance partners

Through international remittance service providers like Western Union, Ria, Remitly, and MoneyGram, Filpinos overseas can securely send money straight to the GCash accounts of their family and loved ones.

GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance app and largest cashless ecosystem, makes it easier for Filipinos abroad to instantly send money back home through its over 70 official remittance partners.

Through international remittance service providers like Western Union, Ria, Remitly, and MoneyGram, Filpinos overseas can securely send money straight to the GCash accounts of their family and loved ones. Likewise, GCash is allowing more Filipinos abroad to use the app wherever they are and using their international or non-Philippine mobile numbers.

With the expansion of GCash overseas, both migrants and Filipinos abroad have better control over their finances. While the free real-time money transfers gives recipients in the Philippines convenient and hassle-free access to funds, GCash also allows app users overseas to pay bills—such as utilities, taxes, and tuition— directly on the app. Filipinos abroad can also buy load for people back home, so families can stay connected with ease through messages and international calls, even from afar.

“By making GCash accessible to more Filipinos abroad, managing finances is now easier from afar. This helps push our vision of financial inclusion for all Filipinos, wherever they may be in the world,” says Ren-Ren Reyes, president and CEO of GCash mobile wallet operator G-Xchange, Inc.

GCash, as the Philippines’ top finance app, has fully expanded its international reach and fully launched its global push following the approval from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Filipinos in 16 countries—the US, Canada, Italy, the UK, Australia, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Qatar, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Spain, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Singapore—can now use international mobile numbers to sign up and use the GCash app.

To access GCash outside the Philippines, simply download the GCash app on Google Play, App Store, or Huawei AppGallery with an active international SIM card. On the app, select the country, type in your mobile number, and fill out important personal information to register. Next, set your MPIN then proceed to log in. Ready your valid ID, like your Philippine passport, for scanning to verify your account. Afterward, complete the facial verification via a selfie and provide additional information, then wait for the SMS confirmation. Upon receiving the confirmation, you may now enter your MPIN and use the app. GCash continues to expand its reach to make a real difference in the lives of every Filipino around the globe—through safe and convenient digital financial services, and equal access to financial opportunities, anytime and anywhere.
