Affinity Photo now supports over 50 more cameras, key new HDR standard following latest update

Models from Sony, Panasonic and Nikon are among the new additions to the list of supported hardware.

Affinity developer Serif has rolled out version 2.4 of its creative suite–Affinity Photo, vector graphic design software Affinity Designer and page layout software Affinity Publisher–for Mac, Windows PC and iPad.

Models from Sony, Panasonic and Nikon are among the new additions to the list of supported hardware, including:

  • Panasonic–G9 mk2, GH6
  • Sony–A7C 2, A7CR, A7R V, A9 III
  • Nikon–Z8, Z30, Zf

Photographers using RAW will also notice best-ever performance from the SerifLabs RAW processing engine, as well as a host of other time-saving tweaks and additions.

And in a world-first, the addition of 32-bit HDR PNG 3rd Edition to existing True HDR support for Mac and Windows, means Affinity Photo meets all the key requirements for high dynamic range on-screen graphics – a measure implemented following consultation with leading sports broadcasters in North America. It also enables users to export images for HDR display in Google Chrome, with other browsers expected to follow.

There’s also good news for architects and other designers, as Affinity Designer now supports both DWG and DXF export. This means outlines created in Affinity can now be easily exported for use in various CAD applications, making it easier than ever to incorporate Affinity into a professional workflow.

And the States Panel is an addition to Affinity Designer and Affinity Publisher. It’s particularly useful for managing different variations of a project or campaign because it eliminates the time-consuming need to toggle layer visibility individually when switching between artboards in Designer or spreads in Publisher.
