GlobalData, a global authoritative consulting firm, has released its latest Metro & Core Packet-Optical Transport/Platform: Competitive Landscape Assessment. In the report, Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 series features leading architecture, ultra-large capacity, excellent transmission performance, and mature commercial use cases. All this has helped Huawei rank as “Leader” with the highest scores in core and metro WDM by GlobalData.
As one of the most authoritative industry analyst firms in the communications field, GlobalData provides professional market research and vendor analysis information for the industry.
According to the report, Huawei OptiX OSN 9800 series outperforms other vendors in terms of line ports, switching capacity and features, port capabilities, transmission capabilities, network management, and physical features.
In 2023, Huawei also released Super 800G ultra-high-speed solution, the industry’s first DC-oriented OTN Kepler platform, and NCE T-AUTO all-optical automation solution.
The solutions have the following highlights:
- Ultra-high rate: Huawei’s Super 800G solution supports 400G and 1.2T programmability. Leveraging PBC non-linear compensation algorithm, new materials, and coherent optical subassembly (COSA) packaging technology, the solution can increase the transmission distance by 20%. Huawei’s 400G+ solution has been deployed on more than 100 commercial networks in more than 50 countries, leading the large-scale deployment of 400G+ networks worldwide.
- Ultra-large capacity: The Kepler OTN platform for data center scenarios uses a dual 3D orthogonal architecture and ultra-high-speed SerDes interconnection to increase the capacity of each subrack to over 100 Tbit/s. Huawei has also launched the industry’s first OXC product that supports unified Super C+L all-optical cross-connections, Pbit/s-level optical switching capacity per subrack, and single-fiber capacity of 96 Tbit/s. All this allows the solution to easily cope with traffic surges in the digital era.
- Ultra-high energy efficiency: The Kepler platform is the first to front-to-rear airflow design concept for energy-efficient DC equipment rooms. With innovative heat dissipation technologies such as intelligent Hato fans and thermally-conductive materials, the Kepler platform reduces the per-Gbit power consumption by 65%, thereby enabling green data center networks.
- Supreme intelligence: Huawei NCE T-AUTO all-optical automation solution builds E2E capabilities based on efficient planning and construction, availability improvement, and O&M simplification. It provides automatic planning for capacity expansion to 400G and beyond, automatic optical-layer deployment, network availability assurance, and accurate fault diagnosis. All this enables deployment upon planning, shortens the time to market (TTM), and improves the proactive assurance availability to 99.999%. In addition, fault locating and rectification can be accelerated, reducing O&M costs.
OptiX OSN 9800 series are Huawei’s flagship WDM products. It is applicable to integrated transmission scenarios such as high-speed interconnection between data centers, home broadband, mobile bearing, and enterprise private line.
In the future, Huawei hopes to “continue to invest and innovate in the optical transmission field to help carriers cope with heavy traffic, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and save energy. By doing so, we expect to promote the development of new services and accelerate digital transformation.”
