Smart sends emergency load assistance to customers affected by Afghan quake

Smart roaming customers will also receive a free gigaroam package that they can make use of for roaming data so that they can get in touch with their families or the authorities to report their situation.

Following another 6.3 earthquake that struck quake-devastated western Afghanistan last weekend, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) is sending its roaming subscribers in the area load assistance during this time of need.

Smart roaming customers will also receive a free gigaroam package that they can make use of for roaming data so that they can get in touch with their families or the authorities to report their situation. Roaming customers in Afghanistan simply need to turn on their phones and connect to Smart’s network partners to use this free service. They will receive a text message with instructions that they can easily follow.

Driven by malasakit and its commitment to keep Filipinos everywhere connected, Smart consistently comes to the aid of overseas Filipinos, providing load assistance during international crises and disasters.

Thousands have been reported dead or injured after Afghanistan suffered successive earthquakes in a week.
