How these tech-savvy Moms use e-commerce in their daily lives

80% of Filipino moms use e-commerce apps for their family’s needs, and go through intensive research before placing a purchase especially for their kids.

In a recent study done by a parenting publication, 80% of Filipino moms use e-commerce apps for their family’s needs, and go through intensive research before placing a purchase especially for their kids. Jocell, Sitti, and Leonor are among those dedicated moms who ensure that each online purchase made for their families is carefully considered. And in time for Mother’s Day, they shared how they make use of Shopee’s convenient digital services in fulfilling their day to day tasks as moms taking care of their families.

Jocell: Shopping and savings with Shopee

Jocell is a stay-at-home mom of four from Pook Dagohoy, UP Diliman and has been using Shopee since she had her second kid. Fuelled by her curiosity every time she sees the delivery man knock on her neighbors’ doors, it was inevitable that she will learn how to order on Shopee herself.

From groceries to diapers to school supplies to appliances, Jocell gets them all from Shopee, where she enjoys discounts, sales, and promos in the app which ultimately help her save on their expenses. As an avid Shopee user, she’s also experienced winning vouchers anywhere from ₱100 pesos to as much as ₱10,000. Thanks to her winnings, she’s able to buy essentials for her family and even fulfill her kids’ long-time request—a brand new TV.

Jocell shares that Shopee has ultimately helped her fulfill a lot of her tasks as a mom in the most convenient way possible. “Lahat ng ginagamit namin sa araw-araw, sa Shopee ko binibili. Di ko na kailangan lumabas ng bahay, idedeliver na dito sa amin. ShopeePay din ang favourite payment method ko kasi less hassle, kahit sa bills payment.”

Sitti: Essentials made more accessible

Sitti and her family live in Rizal, Palawan — four hours outside of the province’s capital of Puerto Prinsesa. They’ve been so used to having to travel far to get the things that they need, including Sitti’s needs for her teaching job. She has four kids, and getting the things that they need could be challenging given the remoteness of their town from the capital.

Over the pandemic, Sitti and her family discovered that Shopee now caters to their area and this proved to be a game-changer. Thanks to Shopee, she no longer had to travel to the next town to get their daily essentials and could easily access a much wider range of products. With the option to order in bulk, Sitti discovered she could also save significantly on essential items such as diapers, milk, and supplies for her children. She shared, “Dahil sa Shopee, mas madali na ang pagbili ng mga pangangailangan namin at mas malawak na ang aming pagpipilian.”

To this day, Sitti eagerly anticipates sales events on Shopee for even bigger savings. The convenience of doorstep delivery, combined with exclusive deals and vouchers, has made her day-to-day tasks and shopping experience easier than ever before.

Leonor: Learning new things as a veteran Mom

For the past almost three decades, Leonor has dedicated her life to raising her three sons. As they are now young adults and teenagers, she gets to play a more active part in her local community. She splits her time between organizing activities for their local church, acting as Hermana mayor in their barangay, and being a mom to her boys. She juggles multiple hats more than ever before, and she has also gotten smarter about how to care for the needs of her family.

She found an easy and convenient solution through Shopee, especially during the time that it was unsafe to go out of the house too much because of the pandemic. Everything that they need for the house, they buy it on Shopee, even school supplies for her youngest son.
