Czech-owned TESLA Smart Technologies and locally-based Smart Citi Teknologi (SCT) inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to develop a green smart city in Manila, and cyanide-free technology for the mining industry in the Philippines.
The MOA was signed by TESLA Smart Technologies CEO Peter Matejcek and SCT CEO Mario Marcos. The MOA signing was witnessed by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
According to TESLA and SCT reports, developing carbon-neutral and green smart cities through its own software and hardware has the following advantages: increase extraction by at least 15%, low extraction costs and expenses, and will not harm the ecosystem since it will use green, clean, and carbon-neutral technology.
Mario Marcos, CEO at SCT said they will maximize the use of Filipino IT experts in developing the project. Technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, Internet of blockchains, metaverse, and quantum computing will be integrated to be effective in improving the country’s economy and the lives of every citizen. And with the fast-growing smart city development, the Philippines can be a competitive country.
The deal between SCT and Czech mining firm Draslovka was also signed to focus on safer mining and extraction of nickel and gold in the Philippines. The two companies will eradicate the use of cyanide and will only use environment-friendly machinery in mining.
The SCT will also embark on a mega project in Roxas, Palawan. The company is still in the process of acquiring more than 500 hectares privately-owned island for this venture. To be inaugurated in September, this super smart island is a seven-year mega project, with an initial investment of $1-billion.
