OFWs send money home with M Lhuillier’s money transfer service

According to data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), remittance flows from OFWs abroad have been on an upward trajectory since the start of 2021, which further increased during the so-called “ber” months of September, October, November, and December.

M Lhuillier, the country’s largest and leading non-bank financial institution, is setting itself up to make it more convenient for Filipinos living abroad to safely send and receive money back home. This comes in response to the recent upward trend of remittances from overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

Michael L. Lhuillier, M Lhuillier President and CEO, expressed his commitment to providing top-notch money transfer services for OFWs. “We want to make sure our fellow Filipinos can easily connect with their families through secure and fast remittance services. With our extensive network across numerous provinces, we are able to provide them with just that.

“We understand how important it is for our Kababayans to be able to stay connected with their families even if they’re miles away,” said Mr. Lhuillier.

In September 2022, there was an impressive 4.2% rise in personal remittances sent by Filipino expatriates compared to the previous year, reaching a total of $3.15 billion.

This influx of money reflects both the continued hard work and dedication of Filipinos abroad who send money home even during difficult times. Apart from these, it also reflects the importance of remittances for sustaining livelihoods back in the Philippines.

M Lhuillier has been providing its money transfer services since it was founded in the 1980s. Currently, it has more than 3,000 branches nationwide, including in far-flung areas such as provinces in Tawi-Tawi, Palawan, Mindoro, and Zamboanga del Sur, making it the ideal partner for OFWs looking to send money to their loved ones even in remote areas.

“We’re excited about how much our customers rely on us when it comes time to send or receive funds over long distances. “We know how important these transactions can be, so we ensure that all our branches are well-equipped to handle any volume of transactions efficiently and safely,” Lhuillier noted.

From overseas workers needing quick access to cash to their families receiving financial support during these trying times, M Lhuillier has taken extra steps to ensure that all customer transactions are safe and secure.
