Accenture Philippines reaffirms commitment to build future talent in PH; announces S2S Academy

For the S2S Academy to succeed, Accenture has leveraged digital development and digital innovation in order to provide impact at scale and helped bridge the gap for the employment and skills gap for the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of the society.

Accenture Philippines, in collaboration with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and various industry partners, reaffirmed its commitment to build the future talent in the Philippines through digital upskilling. This is done through Accenture Skills to Succeed Academy (S2S Academy), the flagship program of Accenture’s Corporate Citizenship which offers free online learning courses on soft skills and confidence-building to help young Filipinos gain the skills needed to get a job.

“Talent upskilling has always been a focus for Accenture Philippines. We believe in the importance of equipping the Filipino talent with the right skills through technology-enablement programs like the S2S Academy. This is part of our commitment as a responsible business, as we strive to create value and a meaningful impact among our learners with the help of our partner organizations. By doing so, we are able to help the Filipino youth kick-start their career journeys and achieve the goals they have set out for themselves,” said Lito Tayag, country managing director at Accenture Philippines.

For the S2S Academy to succeed, Accenture has leveraged digital development and digital innovation in order to provide impact at scale and helped bridge the gap for the employment and skills gap for the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of the society. Since its launch in the Philippines in 2018, the S2S Academy has grown its learner base to over 145,000 learners and added content and enhanced its features for the benefit of Filipino learners.

The success of the S2S Academy was made possible because Accenture and its partners share the same common goal, according to Rudy Guiao, corporate citizenship executive sponsor at Accenture Philippines. “We build and help address the needs of Filipinos and help to succeed in work and in life through the skill building program. We continue to strengthen our collaboration to help transform more lives to education and build a more sustainable future for all,” said Guiao.

The S2S Academy has added content and enhanced its features to help build awareness and confidence for learners to make good career choices, and find and sustain meaningful jobs. Over 100 interactive, bitesize modules and innovative simulations that allow learners to try real life scenarios are included in the platform. An online pre-assessment that generates personalized learning curriculum; and New Skills Now curriculum focusing on developing learner’s essential skills for them to be future-ready, were also added.

Other improvements in the learning platform include the following: enhancements to the S2S Academy website to improve experience of learners from diverse backgrounds and abilities; the platform’s adherence to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), which explains how to make web content more accessible for persons with disabilities (PWDs); and the compatibility of S2S Academy with multiple screen readers.
