Say hello to vivo’s newest entry-level smartphone, the Y02s.
A more comprehensive review will be coming; though for now, here are our initial impressions on this unit being sold as “slim yet powerful”.
To start, selling for (only) P6,499 from vivo’s official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok, it’s easy to say that not much should be expected from this unit. Alas… how wrong that perspective can be, indeed!
The successor to the popular Y01, the unit is, indeed, slim. Though it has a 6.51-inch LCD display, it is only 8.19mm thick (or, more aptly, thin). This makes the unit as thin as… iPhone units of the past.
And yes, it has a 5,000mAh battery (via 10-watt USB-C charging). This is, basically, the same battery you’d get in higher-end models; meaning, the juice on this ought to last you a day.
But this one’s also sorta… classy, as if belying the asking price. With available colors including Flourite Black and Vibrant Blue (both with a glittery finish), it actually looks even better than more expensive units (heck, even Samsung’s A series, with the cheap plastic used, looks “cheaper” somehow). Add to this the 2.5D Trendy Design and the HD+ Halo FullView Display – i.e. no pixelations here, the screen’s crisp – and you have a unit that’s actually calling for attention to be tried… and even bought.
