The School Caravan is part of the company’s support to partner schools that use Infocast, a web-based SMS-broadcast service. Students and stakeholders are provided with free 5G-ready TNT SIMs,  so they can register to the platform and receive updates from the school.

Thousands of students from public high schools in Northern Mindanao have participated in the TNT School Caravans of mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart).

The School Caravan is part of the company’s support to partner schools that use Infocast, a web-based SMS-broadcast service. Students and stakeholders are provided with free 5G-ready TNT SIMs,  so they can register to the platform and receive updates from the school. SmartBro LTE pocket WiFi devices were also raffled off for the students.

For teacher James Joy Heart Maligro of Lugait National High School this technology support will help hundreds of learners. “The school, together with its students and their parents, is grateful to Smart because one of the many needs of our learners has been addressed,” said Maligro.

Josh Dael, Smart Community Development Specialist, shared, “With the 5G-ready TNT SIMs, students can now connect to Smart’s fast and reliable 5G network for their online learning activities. It also enables them to receive school announcements, through Smart Infocast.”

These initiatives highlight PLDT and Smart’s advocacy for digital inclusion through Information and Communications Technology, and to ensure that #NoLearnerLeftBehind. These also underscore the PLDT group’s commitment in helping the Philippines achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 on Inclusive Quality Education.
