Cisco officially announced the appointment of Zaza Soriano Nicart as the new managing director of Cisco Philippines. An industry veteran for almost 30 years, she will be responsible for driving business growth and overseeing all operations in the Philippine market.
Nicart succeeds Karrie Ilagan who has taken on a regional role to lead Cisco Meraki across Asia Pacific, Japan and China (APJC).
Prior to assuming her new role, Nicart was part of APJC region’s Service Provider team for Cisco, where she was responsible for overseeing the service provider business in the Philippines. She also spearheaded the largest Cisco project in the ASEAN region, where they built a nationwide transport network transformation strategy, aligned to the digitization plan of the Philippines.
Nicart’s appointment as managing director will bolster the company’s plan to champion inclusive recovery in today’s hybrid cloud and digital-first world for year 2022 and beyond. She believes that technology has the power to overcome challenges the last two years had brought and close the digital divide to enable an inclusive future for all where no one is left behind.
“The last two years have shown us that a dependence on technology is more prevalent than ever. We witnessed how those with the right connectivity and digital infrastructure, and remote technology strive while those without the right access to technology will left behind whether it be their ability to continue education, access to healthcare, ability to continue on with their jobs or run their businesses fully online. Now more than ever, we believe in the power of technology to drive more inclusivity and opportunity to the underserved population and communities and begin the post-pandemic recovery,” Nicart said.
With Nicart at the helm, organizations of all sizes can look forward to learning more about Cisco’s innovations and technology around hybrid work, cybersecurity and connectivity and how it continues to have businesses and communities accelerate their business resiliency and digital agility to build a better and more inclusive future.
Bee Kheng Tay, President, Cisco ASEAN said, “I am delighted to have Zaza lead our operations in Philippines. With decades of experience in the technology sector, she has in-depth knowledge of how businesses can leverage technology to address challenges and open growth opportunities. I am confident that her experience coupled with her leadership abilities will contribute tremendously to bolster digital innovation in the Philippines and bring immense value to the success of our teams, customers and partners.”
Cisco’s commitment to driving progress for the Philippines is guided by its country digital acceleration program entitled “UGNAYAN 2030”, which centers on connectivity, collaboration, and cybersecurity as the pillars for business resilience in the Philippines.
