Lenovo recognized as one of world’s 100 most sustainable companies

The recognition by Corporate Knights reinforces Lenovo’s efforts to build a smarter, brighter future. Lenovo has a number of programs in place such as setting aggressive greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals for 2030, in alignment with the latest climate science and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative.

For the third consecutive year, Lenovo has been recognized as one of the 2022 world’s 100 most sustainable companies by Corporate Knights.

The Corporate Knights annual ESG-focused rankings evaluated over 7,000 global businesses which generate more than US$1 billion in revenue. Companies are evaluated based on 23 key performance indicators covering resource management, employee management, financial management, clean revenue, clean investment, and supplier performance.

Beyond corporate goals to limit its own emissions, Lenovo is focused on increasing the sustainability of its packaging and products. Since 2008, Lenovo has eliminated 3,240 metric tons of packaging consumption by weight. This month’s CES 2022 announcements included the launch of the new ThinkPad Z-Series laptop that included sustainable materials such as recycled aluminum, or recycled black vegan leather, and packaging that is made from 100% recyclable and compostable bamboo and sugarcane, and an AC power adapter that uses 90% Post-Consumer Content (PCC). This product signals the company’s continued efforts to embed sustainable features and materials in its products.

Lenovo’s recently released its 2020/21 ESG Report that outlines all the sustainability programs Lenovo runs across the globe.
