MTRCB taps PayMaya for online payments

PayMaya has enabled MTRCB with its digital invoicing solution for easier client billing and has equipped the agency’s website, https://mtrcb.gov.ph, with PayMaya Online Checkout for wider online payments acceptance.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is accelerating its digital transformation efforts with PayMaya’s online payment solutions to ensure safer and more convenient transactions between Filipino movie and TV producers and the agency.

PayMaya has enabled MTRCB with its digital invoicing solution for easier client billing and has equipped the agency’s website, https://mtrcb.gov.ph, with PayMaya Online Checkout for wider online payments acceptance.

With these solutions, MTRCB stakeholders –composed mainly of television networks, cable operators, production outfits and film distributors–can pay for MTRCB registration fees, review fees, deputy fees, and other miscellaneous fees conveniently and safely using their PayMaya wallet as well as any credit, debit, or prepaid card, and other e-wallets.

“At MTRCB, we are excited to be enabled with PayMaya’s solutions. We will now be able to complete the gap in our digital transactions that will further improve our services to our stakeholders. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced a lot of changes to the movie and film industry. We hope that despite all challenges, we can encourage film and TV producers to continue pursuing their passion for art by making it convenient for them to submit their review and classification applications online,” said MTRCB Chairperson Maria Rachel Arenas.

For his part, PayMaya Founder and CEO Orlando Vea said:“PayMaya supports the growth and development of the Philippine movie and TV industry, and the efforts of the MTRCB to modernize the review and classification application processes. Enabling businesses to transact with government agencies online is critical in ensuring public safety and promoting more convenience.”

Through the partnership, all fees collected by the MTRCB are remitted to the agency’s Treasury Single Account maintained by the Bureau of the Treasury at the Development Bank of the Philippines. The DBP serves as the settlement bank and oversees remittance of MTRCB’s collections to the Treasury Single Account.
