Over 2,000 students in Baseco given lifeline by Globe Platinum

This support comes from the telco’s loyal Platinum customers who gamely joined a host of exclusive virtual experiences—from garden tours, fitness workouts to art appreciation and whisky tastings—all specially designed for this worthy cause.

A year after Globe Platinum kicked off its #ForFutureHeroes program, more than 2,000 schoolchildren struggling to keep up with remote learning amid the pandemic have been given a lifeline to keep them learning and growing. This support comes from the telco’s loyal Platinum customers who gamely joined a host of exclusive virtual experiences—from garden tours, fitness workouts to art appreciation and whisky tastings—all specially designed for this cause.

Launched in June 2020, the #ForFutureHeroes program was developed to engage Globe Platinum customers in various virtual multi-sensory events designed with their passions and interests in mind. Each event became an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the students of Baseco Compound in Manila, as Platinum users could support at-risk youth simply by attending the event or participating in its related activities. Customer participation was matched with World Vision school kits, which contained DepEd-approved learning modules and school supplies to support the most vulnerable students as they transition to distance learning. So far, the brand has raised 2,735 homeschool kits, of which 1,662 kits have already been distributed to the children who need them. The rest will be delivered to the children in October just in time for the start of the new school year.

Building a brighter future for underserved children with Globe Platinum subscribers

“As a staunch advocate for uplifting the vulnerable, Globe Platinum believes in equipping children with the power of education and knowledge to pave their way to a brighter future,” said James Alcantara, Marketing Director for Globe Platinum. “We celebrate this milestone with our loyal customers, who have played a huge role in making this campaign a success. By sharing their valuable time and effort, they made a huge difference in the lives of these children who we believe will become future heroes in their own way.”

To mark the campaign’s anniversary and as a token of gratitude to its customers, Globe Platinum is launching a special online page exclusive to them where they can get the chance to watch and relive the fun and exciting experience of the previous events.

The exclusive page is accessible only to Platinum customers, who can chat with Thea, their digital assistant at glbe.co/PlatVirtual for more details.
