Filipinos based in North America may experience the many benefits of Globe’s 5G Roaming services as it officially cements its partnership with USA-based AT&T and Canada-based Telus.

Globe empowers its customers in North America by giving them the best possible 5G network experience to help them stay connected with their loved-ones as well as to various opportunities wherever they are in the world. With this partnership with AT&T and Telus, Globe’s 5G roaming will service customers in around 14,000 US towns and cities and at least five major cities in Canada.

“With our continuous 5G roaming expansion, we want to empower our customers with essential connectivity that’s instant and seamless. While a lot of travel experiences and work opportunities have been put on hold by the health crisis, Globe is there to bridge connections, sustain productivity and help them cope with the demands of this new normal,” said Coco Domingo, Globe Vice President for Postpaid and International.

The telco also announced that it has launched 5G with additional roaming partners in South Korea with KT Corp as of May 14, Mobily of Saudi Arabia as of May 20, as well as Italy’s Telecom Italia by June 3, and China’s China Unicom by June 10.

With the addition of these new roaming locations and partners, this brings up Globe’s 5G roaming globally available for outbound customers in 16 countries and with 14 roaming partners: Kuwait and Qatar through Ooredoo; Saudi Arabia through STC and Mobily; Taiwan through Taiwan Mobile; Thailand through AIS Thailand; United Arab Emirates through Du and Etisalat; Hong Kong through CSL; South Korea through SK Telecom and KT Corp; Singapore through Singtel; Turkey through Turkcell; Oman through Omantel; and Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Estonia via the Telia Company.

5G can be experienced with Globe’s Roam Surf 399¹ which allows all-day surfing for Postpaid customers and 1GB of data for Prepaid customers for 24 hours upon activation. Globe’s 5G roamers need to make sure that they are within Globe’s 5G partner locations and using 5G-enabled mobile devices or handsets.

Globe’s partnerships with international telcos also covers inbound roaming and assures visiting foreigners from the following countries and subscribed to the following networks’ 5G coverage as long as they have 5G-enabled mobile devices in the Philippines: Thailand through AIS Thailand; Hong Kong through CSL; Kuwait and Qatar through Ooredoo; Singapore through Singtel; Taiwan through Taiwan Mobile; South Korea through SKT and KT Corp; Saudi Arabia through STC and Mobily; Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Sweden and Norway through Telia Company; and Portugal through Optimus.

With the advanced 5G technology, Globe aims to reinvent travelling for its customers especially in the fields of retail, entertainment, and healthcare. Once the world opens its doors for travel, roamers may readily experience the internet speed that comes with the latest 5G network.

Globe aims to provide Filipinos with 5G technology in its quest to achieve the widest 5G coverage worldwide. The company is firm in its commitment to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG), specifically UN SDG No. 9, which compels society to move forward towards solutions to sustainably develop infrastructures, industries, and innovation.
