Consumer appliances maker Beko Pilipinas Corporation launched its HarvestFresh line of refrigerators designed to preserve the vitamin content of fruits and vegetables.
Beko’s HarvestFresh technology is an innovative three-color technology which consists of blue light for dawn, green light for midday, and red light for dusk and darkness for night. This technology is based on nature as it cleverly mimics the 24-hour day cycle.
The HarvestFresh technology simulates natural light conditions in the special crisper. When the refrigerator is closed, the LED light illuminates in sequence – the blue light for four hours, the green light for two hours, the red light for six hours, and 12 hours of darkness. This helps maintain the level of vitamins in fruits and vegetables.
A study was conducted by the company to prove that Beko HarvestFresh refrigerators preserve and even increase the vitamin content of fruits and vegetables. It was found out that the blue, green and red LED light technology induces Vitamin A and C content on tomatoes and green peppers and can potentially produce more vitamins as compared to a dark conditioned refrigerator. To preserve the vitamins during refrigeration is crucial to maintain the good nutritional value with the presence of other Beko’s innovation technology available in Beko refrigerator such as EverFresh technology special crisper compartment that maintains the ideal humidity via air channels to keep fruits and vegetables fresh three times longer.
Apart from this feature, Beko refrigerator also boasts of NeoFrost dual cooling technology, two separate cooling systems for the freezer and fresh food compartment, and maintain ideal air flow and optimal temperature and humidity. These have resulted to longer freshness, faster cooling and no mixing of others.
Beko refrigerator has Prosmart inverter compressor which is four times quieter than other conventional compressors, with energy efficient resulting in more savings.
Beko’s refrigerator with HarvestFresh technology is available in two capacities: the 372-liter or 12 cubic feet and 409-liter or 14.4 cubic feet and these come in silver, dark inox and black glass finishes.
Meanwhile, with an aim to bring meaningful innovations to Filipino homes, Beko entered the Philippine market in 2015 through its partner-distributor, and to reach more Filipinos, the company established its own subsidiary, the Beko Pilipinas Corporation in March 2020. During the pandemic, Beko was there for its customers and decided to channel its resources to launch a CSR campaign to help fight against Covid-19.
“As 2021 continues to post many challenges for everyone, we continue to be there for our consumers. Our technologies and innovations are even better and more mindful of our endusers’ health and well-being,” said Beko Pilipinas’ marketing manager Dyeun Zapanta, citing their refrigerators that are built with EverFresh and HarvestFresh technologies to keep the food fresher for longer as an example.
