Motorola has returned to the Philippine mobile phone market with two new smartphone offerings, the foldable Motorola Razr 5G and Moto G 5G Plus, both built with 5G coverage for faster network connectivity.
Apart from the 5G support, the two recently-unveiled models offer new features. The “flip” design of the Razr phone is back with the launch of Motorola Razr 5G this year. Wrapped in an aircraft-grade aluminum form factor, the Razr 5G comes with a hinge that is easy to open with one hand and closes with a snap. The phone’s hinge, when folded, leaves no space in between, making the phone as slim and compact as possible, and more protected against dust. Having a foldable clamshell design, the device, when unfolded, measures 72.6mm x 169.2mm x 16mm, and 72.6mm x 91.7mm x 16mm, when folded. Razr 5G weighs 192g.
When unfolded, the Razr 5G is equipped with a 6.2-inch Flex View display that has tapered chin, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and made up of polished 3D glass with a 7000 series aluminum frame. Folded, the Razr 5G has an external 2.7-inch QuickView display that can do more than just tell time and notify of incoming calls or messages. With the phone running Android 10 OS, users can swipe up to access the home screen, use the camera or to call contacts and run apps. The display uses the CinemaVision technology to make films and videos come to life while holding the Razr 5G horizontally.
Users can enjoy clear photos even in low-light conditions with Razr 5G’s 48MP camera that uses Quad Pixel technology which delivers better low-light sensitivity.
Ready for 5G connectivity which allows users to download contents in just a few seconds, the Razr 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G Octa Core processor with Adreno 620 GPU. It is also loaded with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage, and energized by fast charging Li-Po 2800 mAh battery. The Motorola Razr 5G is priced at PhP72,990.
Meanwhile, the Moto G 5G Plus is a midrange smartphone that is 5G-ready. At PhP16,990, the device is the most affordable 5G-enabled smartphone in the Philippines.
The Moto G 5G Plus comes with a 6.7-inch display that uses the CinemaVision technology, allowing the phone to show movies in their full 21:9 cinematic beauty. The display has a 90Hz screen refresh rate and an HDR10 feature that reduces screen tearing and displays smoother motion while delivering sharp contrast and vibrant colors.
The device is equipped with a six-camera setup. At the front, there’s an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 16MP Quad Pixel camera for selfies taken during the day or night. At the back are four cameras including 48MP Quad Pixel camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP camera with a macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor camera. The device also features shooting modes such as Long Exposure, Spot Color, Auto Smile Capture, and AI Shot Optimization that uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically select the right settings.
Both the Motorola Razr 5G and Moto G 5G Plus will be available in the Philippines in December 2020 in all major electronics stores and authorized Lenovo resellers.
