Customers of telehealth service KonsultaMD may now enjoy unlimited video consultation with any of the 30 telemedicine doctors who have volunteered in  the DOH Healthcare Warrior Program.  This service is available via  KonsultaMD app until June 22.

To enjoy the service, customers may download the KonsultaMD app and choose from four affordable KonsultaMD plans which only cost from P15 per week to P150 per month.  In return, they can book an appointment with their preferred DOH volunteer doctor and consult for free within the comforts of their own home.

Aside from the DOH volunteers, members may also engage in teleconsultation with a licensed KonsultaMD doctor anytime via voice or video, depending on their chosen subscription. They may also request e-prescription and e-laboratory.

“We are glad to be chosen by DOH as one of their platforms to reach out to people who are in need of medical advice.  Telemedicine Is a viable alternative to face-to-face consultation and is one way of decongesting our hospitals so that the medical staff can focus on critical cases,” said Maridol Ylanan, CEO of Global Telehealth, Inc., the company which operates KonsultaMD.

KonsultaMD was also tapped by DOH earlier to provide free telemedicine advice to individuals who need non-emergency medical assistance to alleviate surge and minimize risks posed by unnecessary visits to hospitals.  The service ended on May 31.

KonsultaMD is equipped with modules and internal protocols in handling different health issues and provides a telephone triage or a means of determining the urgency of the caller’s condition.

Its team of doctors can provide general health information, guidance and specific measures, interim care and self-care recommendations, reading of laboratory and diagnostic results, health coaching and nutrition counseling, and prescribe medication.

To subscribe, customers may download the KonsultaMD app for free from the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android or call 79880 via mobile or (02) 7798 8000 via landline. Calls to the mobile hotline are free for Globe and TM customers.

Global Telehealth, Inc. is a joint venture between 917Ventures, a corporate incubator wholly-owned by Globe Telecom, and Salud Interactiva (SI), one of the oldest telehealth companies in the world with 22 years of experience in telemedicine and 6 million members in Mexico.
