Smartphone gaming and the Samsung Galaxy A20

The smartphone giant’s latest release is fitted with an octa-core Exynos 7884 processor, which seeks to rival the A12 Bionic processor of the iPhone XR and the 7nm CPU chipsets installed in both the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro.

Upon its release in March several months ago, the Samsung Galaxy A20 has become one of many advanced smartphone releases to hit the market in recent years.

Whilst Samsung has long been a huge player in the smartphone industry and will continue to be for many years to come, with more competition available in the forms of the Huawei P30 Pro, HTC Exodus 1, iPhone XR and Sony Experia 1, prospective buyers are now faced with greater options when considering their next purchase.

Specifications and Capabilities

The smartphone giant’s latest release is fitted with an octa-core Exynos 7884 processor, which seeks to rival the A12 Bionic processor of the iPhone XR and the 7nm CPU chipsets installed in both the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Huawei P30 Pro. With the Exynos 7 series, the GPU and CPU offers a more-than-adequate gaming experience. Furthermore, the A20 comes with 3GB of RAM, which is considerably less than some of its main rivals. The Galaxy S10 contains 8GB of RAM, which is matched by the Huawei P30 Pro, whilst the S10+ is fitted with an ever higher 12GB. Moreover, the Experia 1 and Nokia 9 PureView also possess more RAM than the A20 as both are packed with 6GB.

However, the A20 does provide users with a sizable 6.40-inch touchscreen display. The standard screen, which also offers a resolution of 720 x 1560, is fitted with a super AMOLED Infinity V-Display, which offers a wider viewing area that makes activities such as gaming much more engaging. In comparison, the S10 and P30 Pro displays at 1440p, whilst the iPhone XR offers prospective buyers a 1792 x 828 resolution.

In regard to battery capacity, the A20 does come in strongly in relation to some of its competitors. The 4,000 mAh battery, which allows for 15W fast charging, offers for a prolonged viewing or gaming experience. The A20 betters the lifespan of both the iPhone XR and S10 which are fitted with 2942 mAh and 3400 mAh batteries, and although it does not match the P30 Pro’s 4200 mAh capacity, the latest model in Samsung’s A series does offer a very impressive level of charge.

As a result of the specifications fitted within the Galaxy A20, the processor, combined with both the RAM and battery capacity, does allow for a decent level of gaming when it comes to some of the most demanding open world games such as Fortnite and PlayersUnknown Battleground. Additionally, gamers can also use Samsung’s virtual reality headsets to enjoy a different style of gaming on the A20.

Furthermore, whilst open world games are always growing in popularity, the mobile casino market remains one of the biggest on the smartphone platform. With many different providers offering a varied selection of games ranging from baccarat, blackjack and roulette, along with many more, and with the A20 possessing the capabilities to enjoy such games, it is vital to look around with some of the best online casino bonuses in the UK being available specifically for Android users.

At approximately £165 (approximately P9,900 in the Philippines), the Samsung Galaxy A20 represents a very interesting alternative to some of the pricier releases. Although it does not contain the same specifications as the more costly alternatives, the A20’s impressive battery life, along with its Exynos 7884 processor and 3GB of RAM, allows for an enjoyable gaming experience without having to break the bank.
